Dedication to Marion Bogo

This educational toolkit is dedicated to the memory of Professor Marion Bogo who passed away on September 26, 2021.

Marion was a Co-Investigator on this project and a valued member of the research team. As a faculty member at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto, she was a mentor to many masters and doctoral students who became leading practitioners, educators, and researchers in their own regard.

Over Marion’s four decades as a social work educator, she transformed social work education and practice through innovative and progressive studies. As a forward-thinking educator, Marion introduced simulation into social work education and used standardized clients to give students an authentic experience of engagement, assessment, intervention, and termination. As a testimony to her invaluable contribution, simulation is a core feature of the educational toolkit.

Marion’s enthusiasm, warmth, and support will be missed.
